Featuring Deena Tyler, Chey Granroth, Melissa Dey Hasbrook, the hosts of "Survivn' and Thrivin"; as well as Amber Howe.

Poems or songs may be read or performed covering a wide array of topics, including (but not limited to):
tributes to survivors of sexual violence, outrage about sexual assault, surviving all forms of violence, community activism, oppression of women, a man's perspective, to my sons: things that you would tell a young man about respect for self, for life, for women, the global effect of violence against women.

All genders welcome to these events.

A Call to Men 

 

In conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we welcome nationally renowned public speaker and educator Ted Bunch on April 19, 2007 to address the role well-meaning men must play in ending domestic and sexual violence. Ted is a co-founder of A Call to Men: National Association of Men and Women Committed to Ending Violence Against Women.

This annual event is a 5K run that raises money for MSU Safe Place, MSU's on campus domestic violence shelter and advocacy services provider.

Creating a Mid-Michigan Rape Crisis Center : Community Forum

 

On April 25th a community forum will be held at the Sparrow Professional Building (Located across the street from the Sparrow Hospital) in Room E.

The forum is being held to discuss the formation of a Mid-Michigan Rape Crisis Center. Members of the community and those working in related fields are invited to come and provide input into what activities or services should be incorporated into the MRCC. Individuals are also invited to come and listen to what the proposed project involves.

Operation Freefall

Operation FreeFall is a 2-Mile High Stand Against Sexual Assault and several MSU students will be JUMPING out of a plane on April 28th!  They are trying to raise funds for this amazing event and have all created webpages for giving and to help end sexual violence - please visit their websites to see very courage students in action!
